Key areas of our training for News Reading:

1. Clarity: You will learn how to maintain clear diction so that the audience can understand you without difficulty. You will be trained to avoid mumbling, slurring words, and speaking too quickly or too slowly.
2. Projection: How to project your voice so that it can be heard clearly by the audience. This does not mean speaking loudly, but rather speaking with a clear and resonant tone.
3. Authoritativeness: You will learn how to sound authoritative and credible in order to command the audience’s attention and trust.
4. Pleasantness: You will learn how to read news in a pleasant and engaging voice that is easy to listen to. You will be trained to avoid harsh tones and to speak in a warm and friendly way.
5. Breath control: You will learn a few breathing exercises that will help you maintain your pleasant voice throughout a long broadcast.
6. Variety: You will be trained on a variety of vocal tones so that you can convey the appropriate emotion and meaning of the news item. You will learn to avoid a monotone voice and use different pitches, volumes, and speeds to create interest and excitement.
