MIRAGE FILM INSTITUTE is a training institute with professional courses in the field of Film, Media and Photography. We offer certificate courses in regular, part time and weekend batches. Periodically we conduct intensive weekend workshops.
The courses in Film Making include Direction, Editing, Film Making and Script Writing.
Our media courses include Dubbing & Voice Over, News Reading and RJ & Anchoring.
In photography, we train our students on Professional Photography. We also offer Photography workshops on Fashion, Modelling, Wildlife and Travel Photography.
We offer specially tailored workshops for companies to train to their staff in the creative fields of film making and photography. We also conduct special film making and photography workshops for students at various colleges.

About Founder
FOUNDER/DIRECTOR: Sam Kumar M.Tech. (IIT-B)
After completing his Masters degree in Computer Science at IIT Mumbai, Sam Kumar started his professional career as a Consultant in a Global IT Services company. He lived in US, UK, Holland, Australia, Dubai, Singapore and Malaysia for nearly 20 years working for international corporations. During his stay abroad, he attended many Workshops and Master classes in Film making and Photography. After years of international corporate life he returned home to Chennai and shifted to his first passion – Film making and Photography.
Director Sam Kumar has written, shot, directed and edited documentary films, corporate films, short films and music videos in US, Singapore and India. His films have been screened at international film festivals in Berlin and Singapore. He was interviewed by Hanoi TV and one of his film was shown on their English TV channel. Currently he is working on a few film projects that are at various stages of development.
In 2010 he started Mirage Film Institute in Chennai to share his knowledge and experience in film making and photography.
US-trained, Master photographer Sam Kumar has held many solo photography exhibitions in Singapore, Thailand and India. He has participated in a few group photography shows in the US.
Sam Kumar has published a photography coffee-table book 'ENVIRONMENTAL DANCE'. It features over 100 artistic photos of 10 international and 10 Indian classical dancers he photographed in exotic outdoor locations of Bali, Thailand, Singapore and India! This book is available on Amazon worldwide and has over fifty 5-star reviews.
His second book "MASTER MOBILE PHOTOGRAPHY" explains various techniques for shooting great photos with your mobile camera. Following these simple steps narrated in this book can make you a great photographer with just your mobile phone. The ebook is availabe on Amazon. He will be publishing 3 more books on Photography and Film making later this year.
